2008 Chardonnay

100% Yadkin Valley Chardonnay aged in stainless steel with French oak staves.  Staves are pieces of oak used to make barrels.  They are different in that they are cut and shaped differently to fit in the tank. Instead of putting the wine in oak, we put the oak in the wine.  Our 2008 Chardonnay has green apple and pear aromas, intertwined with oak.  There is a subtle smoky character.  The wine is balanced, medium-bodied with a creamy texture and  refreshing acidity.
