About ten years ago, much to my delight, I met a fasinating and loving couple, Ester' and Dave DeFehr. She and I, along with other artists, started painting together. Our friendships grew and our art became very meaningful to us all. In 2005 Daveste' Vineyard was begun, as a result of a longtime dream of Dave's.

"Daveste' Artists" meet to paint every Tuesday at the studio on the vineyard grounds. We have eight members that paint in different media and we exhibit our works locally and also in the "Tasting Room" at the vineyard.

Personally, I began my interest in art at retirement in 1996. This was after a long business career with Kemper Insurance in Charlotte, NC. I love watercolor and have studied in many workshops throughout the country, one being in Giverny, France in Monet's Garden!

I loved painting the watercolor,"Sailing on Lake Norman". It was special to me , as I live on the lake, with its ever changing scenery. Enjoying wine at the Daveste' Vineyards is my favorite pasttime. Can you even imagine my delight when my painting was selected for a label on my favorite Chardonnay!
